Argon3LX performs exceptionally well even in smaller rooms or when placed close to walls. The high-end tweeter update raises the performance of the 3LX to a whole new level, revealing delightful detail and dynamic nuance even from recordings you thought you knew by heart.

Studio quality with added weight of a floorstander

Argon3LX

The new tweeter

This enhances the high-frequency response, offering a staggering level of detail and clarity to the high frequencies.

Revised crossover

Fine-tuning the crossover for greater management of driver integration has resulted in a beautiful balance between drivers.

Balanced Low-Mid-Bass

Retaining the deep, controlled bass, ensuring an improved seamless transition across the frequency spectrum.

Sound can transport you to new emotional states. The new Argon’s take that journey way deeper into beauty of sound than their predecessors.

- Anssi Hyvönen, Founder of Amphion Loudspeakers

Thank you for pushing the boundaries of perfection. You have taken the word 'listen' to another level.

- Giancarlo Del Sordo, CEO of Acustica

For me, the best speakers have to sound great without hiding a thing. Amphion's do exactly that!

- Finneas O'Connell, Singer-songwriter & producer

Amphion's spoke to me on an emotional level I had not experienced before.

- Peter Stoel, Post-production & sound-designer

I've been looking for the perfect speaker that delivers both sound and an understated design Everything about Amphion appeals to me.

What makes the Amphion waveguide essential?

Waveguide: A generic term to describe a structure that directs sound waves, with minimal loss of energy, by restricting their expansion to one or two dimensions. It helps create a wide, even sweet spot-though highest treble is always directive. It solves cabinet diffraction issues, aligns drivers, and makes dispersion patterns between drivers more even across a wide frequency band.

Uniquely U/D/D

Amphion is a frontrunner in waveguide technology, and is widely recognised for their use of tweeter waveguides in front of the driver to control directionality – incorporating a technology called U/D/D (Uniformly Directive Diffusion).

Passive Radiator Technology

Argon 3X | 3LX | 7LX utilize the passive radiator technology developed originally for Amphion’s professional line. Passive radiators offer a number of performance benefits over traditional vented cabinets.

Better quality bass: Passive radiators remove the harmful sonic signature always present with reflex loading. Due to a lack of control the reflex port adds a “tail” to the original signal, which smears particularly the upper bass and the lower midrange. When properly executed, passive radiators produce the ideal, quick, controlled “start-stop” type of bass, and improve the clarity in the lower mids.

Increased midrange purity: In addition to better quality bass, the midrange purity is increased. A driver situated in a reflex cabinet is exposed to “disturbance” ie. air turbulence and pressure changes caused by air moving in and out of the reflex tube. In a closed passive reflex cabinet, the internal environment of the enclosure is better controlled, which optimizes woofer performance.

More natural energy transfer: Sound is not a mere frequency curve, it is transfer of energy from sound source to the listener. Passive radiators load the room more evenly and ensure a more natural and emotionally involving energy transfer.

Please Note: As radiators load the room somewhat differently, optimal placement can differ from what you are used to with your vented speaker. In case of bass issues, experiment with the speaker placement – passive radiators tend to allow closer to the wall placements than their vented counterparts.

Time-adjusted drivers

All products use time-adjusted drivers and a 1600 Hz tweeter crossover. This leads into point-source like behavior and seamless driver integration. Rock-solid “phantom” centre, life-like 3D imaging, and an extremely wide and deep sweet-spot are characteristic of all Amphion products.

Powerful precision

Speaker manufacturers tend to strive for a certain ”sound”. The target for Argons is what we hear “live”. Nothing more. Nothing less. Only the highest quality components are used in our quest for perfection. High-quality SEAS drivers, an electrically elegant and simple crossover, and innovative acoustical engineering create a large and clean sonic-window into all kinds of music. Natural transparency and highest level resolution allow you to experience new aspects even from the recordings you thought you knew by heart.

Let the Argons take you away! Everyday.
