A true reference in the Courbet Series, the Courbet N°5 redefines what a slim floorstanding loudspeaker can achieve. Combining an elegant, space-friendly design with remarkable acoustic performance, it delivers the scale, dynamics, and refinement of much larger loudspeakers while integrating effortlessly into virtually any listening environment.

Drawing on more than 40 years of French loudspeaker design and driver manufacturing expertise, Davis Acoustics engineered the Courbet N°5 around a dedicated three-way architecture featuring a Kevlar midrange driver and dual carbon-fiber woofers. This carefully balanced design produces deep, articulate bass, an exceptionally natural midrange, and extended, delicate high frequencies, creating a presentation that is both precise and emotionally engaging.

Recognized as one of the most versatile models in the Courbet lineup, the Courbet N°5 offers an expansive soundstage, effortless musicality, and an impressive ability to disappear into the listening room. Whether reproducing intimate vocals or full-scale orchestral works, it delivers a transparent, lifelike performance that invites hours of fatigue-free listening.

Very compact, in a 2-way configuration with woofers of only 13 cm, the Davis Courbet N°4 floor-standing speakers may seem a bit pricey at first glance. But that would be overlooking the quality of their drivers and design. Because, when listening, they completely amazed us with their generosity, spontaneity, freshness, and naturalness. 01

Cutting-Edge Acoustic Technology

At the heart of the Courbet N°4 is a two-way bass-reflex configuration, a result of Davis Acoustics’ expertise in speaker design. The 28 mm soft fabric dome tweeter, derived from the TW28CD range, ensures precise and detailed reproduction of high frequencies. Its resonance frequency, pushed beyond 25 kHz, guarantees exceptional clarity and distortion-free performance within the audible spectrum.

For midrange and bass frequencies, Davis Acoustics has chosen a next-generation 130 mm Kevlar driver. This diaphragm, paired with a machined metal phase plug, delivers a linear frequency response from 50 to 4000 Hz. The circular front-facing bass-reflex port optimizes low-frequency response while making speaker placement in the room more flexible.

02

A Balanced and Immersive Sound Signature

The Courbet N°4 stands out for its ability to create a wide, three-dimensional soundstage, giving the impression of much larger speakers. Its sound reproduction is characterized by delicacy and naturalness across the entire audible spectrum. The midrange is present and organic, blending seamlessly with luminous and smooth high frequencies, offering instruments a striking realism.

One of the major strengths of the Courbet N°4 is its overall balance. The bass integrates perfectly with the rest of the spectrum, contributing to remarkable sonic coherence. This neutrality allows the speaker to adapt to all musical genres, from classical to rock, jazz, and world music. Transparency and definition are key, delivering impressive precision across registers without ever becoming excessive or causing listener fatigue.

03

Easy Integration into Your Audio System

With a sensitivity of 90 dB and a nominal impedance of 4 to 8 ohms, the Courbet N°4 is relatively easy to drive. However, it does require quality amplification capable of delivering sufficient current to fully exploit its potential. Its nominal power of 90 W and maximum power of 130 W provide ample headroom for dynamic and immersive listening sessions.

For optimal integration, Davis Acoustics recommends leaving at least 30 cm of space from rear and side walls. A minimum distance of 2 meters between the speakers and a slight toe-in towards the listening area will ensure optimal sound spatialization. The decoupling spikes included with each speaker help refine bass reproduction by isolating the speaker from floor vibrations.
